Mrs Cox with our new Preps

Welcome to 2024!

Welcome to the new school year everyone, I hope the Summer break was a good one for you all.  A new school year brings with it many new opportunities to start afresh, set new goals and continue to grow academically, physically and spiritually.  I wish all students and their families every blessing for a happy and healthy 2024.

Please join us at our Welcome night tomorrow Thursday 8th February.  Prep liturgy in the Marian Centre 5:30pm. Gr 1-6 Open classrooms 5:45pm-6:15pm. Following with a Free Welcome BBQ!

Opening Mass

To celebrate the beginning of the school year, we invite all families to join us for our Opening Mass on Friday at 9:45am in the Marian Centre. There will be a special welcome for our Preps

New Staff

We welcome the following new staff to St Mary's: -Jodi Cox and Carmel Hutchison (Gr 3/4 teachers), Sunny Alessi and Kobie Issell (Learning support staff).  We also welcome Georgia Gattuso as a teacher this year.  Georgia spent last year as an LSO and has gained permission to teach as a  student teacher.

NDIS Specialist Appointments

A letter has been emailed to parents and carers regarding the  National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

In recent years, the amount of specialists visiting St Mary’s has increased significantly.  We are asking families and specialists to please contact the office to make appointments at least 7 days ahead of schedule.

This will ensure we have time to prepare for the appointment and inform the teaching staff that the visit is taking place.  Most importantly St Mary’s is required to adhere to relevant Child Safety procedures.

I appreciate everyone's understanding regarding this.

Painting Program

The painting program was completed over the Summer holidays and we are very happy with the result.  As you see in the photos, we have had around  half of the buildings were painted inside and out.

Gr 5/6 Camp

We wish our Gr 5/6 students and staff all the best for their camp next week.  They will visit Sovereign Hill in Ballarat before travelling to Roses Gap outdoor education camp in the Grampians.  We look forward to seeing the photos and hearing about their trip next week!

Eli Ratcliffe

Eli has stepped up to be a wonderful leader of the school in the first weeks of school.  He has been a great support to his Prep buddy and he is being a wonderful role model to those around him in the classroom.  Thank you for your fantastic leadership Eli!

Mr Butts' Jokes!

A person knocked on my door asking for donations for the local swimming pool.  I said "Of course" and gave him a glass of water!

Q: How does Darth Vader like his toast?

A: On the dark side!
