Foundation to Grade 2

We have had a wonderful start to the year in the Foundation – 2 learning module! Year 1 and year 2 students settled back into school after the summer break and have enthusiastically shared their holiday stories with their teachers and friends. Our newest members of the school community, our prep students, have been exploring our wonderful play spaces and learning about all the things we do at school. It has been great to see the preps settle in so easily, running around the playground, making new friends and enjoying the classroom activities.

We have spent a lot of time getting to know each other, and learning that we are a part of a wonderful and growing community. We have been discovering all the things that are important to each of the children – their families, the things they enjoy doing, and of course, their favourite food! We have reflected on our Foundation - 2 module being one big ‘family’, that in some ways we are the same, and in other ways we are different, but as a community, we always care, support and encourage each other.

Prep/1/2 enjoyed developmental play sessions as they continued to settle into old and new routines! Next week, we will commence classroom Resilience Project activities and embark on our term 1 Inquisitive Minds Geography unit - exploring place, how places change over time and how we can care for the special places in which we live and learn.

We are so excited for the year ahead and look forward to watching the wonderful children of WMPS Foundation – 2 learn and grow!
