Music Camp
For the first time, PHSC ran a two part Music Camp, aimed to involve more ensembles and more students. What a success it was!
Music Camp 1 invitations were extended to Junior Choir, Senior Choir, Contemporary Choir, Vocal Group, Rhapsody, Senior Guitar Ensemble, Intermezzo Guitar Ensemble and Planet 89. And as is tradition, Orchestra, Arnold Street, Stage Band, Soul Band, Used Car Horns, Latin Band and String Collective were also invited to attend Music Camp 2 from Wednesday to Friday.
Students worked hard and we can hear the results already. Make sure you get down to upcoming concerts to hear for yourselves!
Rest assured, they had fun as well! The talent show, beach walk & movie nights, as well as Gaga Ball and board games made for a great time. Camp 1 prepared a special Bohemian Rhapsody Masterpiece, and performed it to Camp 2 on arrival. Check it out at the link below.
Talent Show results
On Camp 1 Lucio Fitzsimon & Henry Webb were the winners of the talent show with Bennie & The Jets. Emma Dong came in second, and Pearl Clayton & Florence Fensham, Jasmine Harris, and Nico Turner tied for third place.
On Camp 2 a rap x Vivaldi Act, performed by En Kim-Anderson, Arthur Bellette, Itsara Lee, Alex Calia, Tommy Walker, Nanai Carletti & Fen Peuser, took out first place. Quinn Penhale came in second on piano, and Quinn Voon, Toby Calia & Isaac Mossenson received third place with their Queen covers.
Thank you to all students who attended, your hard work, respectful manner and great company were much appreciated. Hope you had as much fun as we did!
Students Perspective:
"Music camp was such a great experience!! It gave us heaps of time to be able to rehearse with our bands and ensembles so we could all become better musicians. It was also a great week that we got to spend with our friends and become closer with other people who we might not have known very well beforehand!" - Davis Hocking
"I loved music camp, it was one of the best camps I've been on. I think that having all of the other year levels there at once was so good, and I made friends with this bunch of year 8s and 9s. And bohemian rhapsody was so fun to work towards, and the talent show was amazing. I am definitely going next year." - Serafina Milward-Bason
