Prep News

Term 1, Week 2

Welcome!

Welcome to Prep 2024! We have had an amazing start to the year and the Prep team would like to extend our thanks to everyone's families for their support. All of our Prep children are excited to be at school and are happy, settled and engaged throughout the day. Our smooth start wouldn't have been possible without your positivity, organisation and reassurance. Whether this is your first experience of school, or perhaps your last child to leave the nest, please be kind to yourselves as you and your family navigate the beginning of the school year.

What we've been up too...

We have been enjoying spending time together in our new classrooms and out in the playground. Each day, we play games to get to know each other and complete activities about ourselves and being at school. We have been learning new routines and expectations to keep us safe while we are at school.

Important Information & Reminders

School Nurse

Please see below some important information about our upcoming School Nurse visit. You will have received information about these visits today in your child's reading satchel. We are very lucky to have a School Nurse visit so early in the year and would very much appreciate you filling out the documentation ASAP. Often the School Nurse picks up things that have been unnoticed such as the need for glasses or hearing difficulties. If these things are picked up quickly, children will have much more success in the classroom. This is a FREE service.

Upcoming Fortnight

During the next fortnight, we will continue to play more games that promote team work and belonging. We will also continue to recognise our names and learn how to write them. In Literacy, the first letters we will learn to say the most common sound for and to write are m, s, f and a. In Mathematics, we will be learning everything about the numbers 1-4. This includes how to write, count, order and make collections of these amounts.
