The ANZAC DAY March

Each year, the VSC Symphonic Band begins the year by becoming a 'marching band' in the lead up for the ANZAC Day parades. Lead by Mr. Muddyman, the Symphonic Band students practice twice a week memorising pieces and learning how to 'march and play'. Each Friday morning you may hear them throughout the school yard as they make their way around the soccer pitch.

The Marching Band also gets the chance at a couple of practice runs as they march through the front lawn of the Year 7 area for the Year 7 Picnic event as well as marching down the 100 metre track at the Athletics day.

We have been invited to be involved in the ceremonies at both the Ringwood RSL (Sunday 21st April) and the ANZAC Day Parade in the CBD (Thursday 25th April). Our students will represent our College as they march on the main streets in honour of the fallen.

It is a long standing tradition the college is proud to support and we wish the students well this year.

Music Support Group

We are looking for parents/guardians who are interested in assisting the music program with the running of events and fundraisers for our program. Instrumental Music does not receive any extra funding and relies heavily on the work of our Music Support Group to raise much needed funds. In the recent past, the Music Support Group has assisted us to purchase a grand piano for the Music Centre, two double basses and a new euphonium for students to use. As well as various other music instruments and their maintenance and repairs.

In Terms 2 and 3 we run a weekly sausage sizzle at recess to help raise money towards these things. If you are available and interested in giving an hour of your time throughout the term, we would highly value your contribution. Please get in touch with Mr. Mizzi in the Music Centre to learn more.
