Courage 2 Care

Year 5

Dear parents/carers,

In Week 6, students in Year 5 were given the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions and activities aimed at exploring their own attitudes and actions towards diversity and inclusion. Led by trained facilitators, Courage 2 Care’s Upstander Program, not only raises awareness but also empowers students to become advocates for positive change within our school community.

One of the most powerful moments of the incursion was when our students had the privilege of hearing from a Holocaust survivor who shared their personal story of resilience and hope. Through their testimony, students learned firsthand about the impact of courageous acts of kindness and solidarity in the face of adversity.

We were truly impressed by the level of engagement and empathy demonstrated by our students during the incursion. It was inspiring to see them embrace the concepts of empathy, respect, and courage as they learned about the importance of being an upstander.

Kind regards,

Aoife Harrington (5A), Stephanie Peters (5B) and Lynne Seabrook (5/6A).
