Fabulous Art!
Here are some beautiful creations by Level 5 students called ‘Mini My Stories’. Students were firstly given an ‘Art Ideas’ sheet with lots of different provocations to inspire them during the year. They then created their own little art piece to show a little bit of them and their own story. They could choose what medium to use from paint, posca pens, sharpies, oil pastels, pencils, and markers. You can see these delightful artworks on display in the Level 5 building entrance.
Wonderful effort! Ms Van Etten, Art
Happy Chinese New Year! Xin Nian Kuai le! Wishing everyone great health and good fortune.
Students have been learning about the traditions of CYN, they looked at how Chinese people around the world celebrates CYN, the 12 Chinese zodiacs and a story about the New Year monster "Nian".
Seniors made a dragon puppet as it is the year of the dragon. Middles practised writing CYN greeting on to the "God of Wealth" and the Juniors made a dragon mask.
L4-6 House swimming carnival a great success!!!
It was a hot and gusty day at this year’s house swimming carnival, but that didn’t dampen the vibe and enthusiasm of the day. Students competed in events, displaying their swimming talent and sportsmanship. We even had a duck with us for the carnival.
Congratulations to all competitors for showing such courage, spirit and sportsmanship. A special congratulations to Waratah who won the event.
A big thank you to the teachers, parent helpers and spectators that made the day a huge success.
The district team will be compiled and Compass notices sent out in due course. The district event will be held at MSAC on 7th March for qualifying students.
