Sustainability Club

Sustainability Club Tuesdays 1:45pm - 3pm

We're thrilled to share an enchanting update from our garden: the journey of our tadpoles has reached an exciting milestone – we have our first frog!

From humble beginnings as eggs rescued from a dwindling puddle, these tiny creatures have undergone a remarkable metamorphosis right before our eyes. Our students have been captivated by their transformation, witnessing the tadpoles sprout legs, develop lungs, and ultimately emerge as amphibious wonders.

This captivating experience is not only a lesson in biology but also an exploration of art and sustainability. Through our Art and Sustainability Hour, students have delved into the beauty of nature's cycles, using their observations to inspire creative expressions of wonder and awe.

The fascination with these magnificent creatures and their incredible journey has been palpable among our students. They have eagerly observed, questioned, and learned about the delicate balance of nature as our tadpoles grew and evolved.

As part of our commitment to stewardship and education, we've decided to continue observing the frog and tadpoles until they reach maturity. This extended observation period will provide invaluable insights into their development and behaviour, deepening our understanding of their role within the ecosystem.

In the coming days and weeks, we look forward to witnessing more milestones as our froggy friends continue to grow and thrive in our garden sanctuary. And when the time is right, we'll bid them farewell with gratitude, knowing that we've played a part in nurturing and protecting these magnificent creatures.

Seeds of Change - Sustainability Stall Success

Our recent stall was a resounding success, thanks to the incredible support of our community and a generous donation from the Jamison Family.

At the heart of our stall were the herb seeds we harvested with care and dedication from our very own garden. These seeds, lovingly nurtured by our students, found new homes as eager gardeners embraced the opportunity to grow their own fresh herbs at home. From fragrant basil to zesty cilantro, each seed carried the promise of sustainable living and culinary delight.

Adding to the bounty were the Bunya Pine seeds, a testament to the rich biodiversity of our region. These ancient seeds, with their storied history and cultural significance, captured the imagination of all who visited our stall, inspiring conversations about conservation and heritage.

In addition to the seeds, we were fortunate to receive a generous donation of 20 Zanzibar Gems from the Jamison Family. These stunning indoor plants, known for their striking foliage and easy care, were eagerly snapped up by plant enthusiasts looking to bring a touch of greenery into their homes.

Every dollar raised at our stall will be reinvested into the Sustainability Club, empowering our students to further their learning and take meaningful action towards a more sustainable future. Whether it's investing in new garden tools, organising educational trips, or supporting sustainability projects, your contributions will fuel our journey towards environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

As we reflect on the success of our stall, we are reminded of the power of collective action and the ripple effect of generosity. Together, we are sowing the seeds of change and nurturing a culture of sustainability that will endure for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who supported our stall and helped make it such a remarkable success. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and commitment to sustainability inspire us all to strive for a greener, more sustainable world.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Aasta
