SCUD - Green Team Report

I’m sure most of you have heard about the clean up the school day that happened two weeks ago. If you haven’t, don’t stress. We’ll explain. Clean up the school day is when different grades cleaned up different sections of the school. It’s great because we also raise awareness about how much rubbish is in the school. It was a success! 

The Green Team is currently counting how much rubbish we’ve collected; we had lots of fun walking around, chatting, and trying to pick up lots of rubbish!

Finally we would like to thank the teachers, for helping and encouraging us, the parents for providing the kids with gardening gloves, the students for picking up rubbish, and Mr Chan, Ms Hui, and Mrs Sztrajt for helping organise the event.

Have an idea or passionate about animals, the environment and sustainability? Come join the Green Team! We will be meeting Monday lunch at 5C's classroom - Mrs Stzrajt and Mrs Simula's room.  

Project Stationery

Thank you for your donations. The project has now closed for the year and stationery has been sorted and redistributed! The project will reopen December 2024.

Boroondara School Holiday Sustainability Workshop Program

On offer are fun workshops to choose from, including opportunities to net for water bugs in the Merri Creek, make a recycled plant pot and plant a seed to take home, meet the friendly chooks, make their own recycled paper, make a mini insect hotel for your yard, make a seed ball to plant, or visit the bee hives!

When: Tuesday 9 April to Thursday 11 April

Where: CERES Environmental Park

Ages: 3 to 8 Years

Kew East Recycling Centre

A hub for all your hard-to-recycle items! Open every Saturday, 2-4pm at the Scout Hall, 13 Glass Street, Kew East. They're also looking for volunteers! Check their instagram to see what they can recycle: https://www.instagram.com/kecrecycling/
