Cyber Security Month
October is Cyber Security Awareness Month. This year's theme: cyber security is everyone's business.
Children and young people might be digital natives, but that doesn't mean they're immune from scams, hacking, identity theft and other threats to their online safety.
If you're a parent or carer, setting parental controls on your devices and wi-fi network is a good start. But it's also crucial you talk to your children about online safety.
Here are a few questions you can ask them to get the ball rolling:
💜What kind of information is it ok to share online, and what should you keep to yourself?
💜 Why do you think people might want your personal information?
💜What privacy settings do you have activated on the devices and programs you use? Why don't we look at them together?
