F-2 News

 Foundation/1

The F/1 students are back into the swing of things and continuing some great learning.

Writing:

For the past few weeks in writing, the students have been learning the difference between a fragment and a sentence. They have then had to turn a fragment from one of the Fairy Tales they have been reading, into a sentence.

Hockey  Clinic:

We have continued learning about Hockey with Ian. The improvement in their grip, dribbling skills and of course their "What's the Time Mr Hockey" skills have greatly improved.  So has the participation, with all students enjoying the game.

Kindergarten to School Transition Program

The transition program for our 2025 Foundation students commenced this week.  The program has been developed to allow children to experience school routines and to begin to make connections to ensure a smooth transition into their first year of school. During the first session, the children completed counting and reading activities in the Foundation classroom and visited the Art Room to see what this spaces looks like and to meet Mrs Schiller.  We also had a great time playing in the Environmental Garden, on the equipment in the Fitness Hub and finished off the session at the Undercover Playground.

 Grade 2

Aged Care:

Students took over their holiday journals and shared with the residents what they got up to in the September break. Students also took over the iPads and shared some of the apps that we use at school.

Inquiry:

Students have been great inventors over the past two weeks. One of the tasks was to invent a new bike.  The designs were fantastic!

Writing:

In writing students have enjoyed free writing for four minutes at the start of each session. Students have a topic to base their writing on but the rest is up to them. It has been great to see the ideas they have been coming up with.

Maths:

In maths we have begun learning about measurement. We have explored informal and formal units of measurement and found out who the tallest is in the class.

Have a great weekend!
