Reflection

Today is United Nations Day. Australia played a key role in the founding of the United Nations Organisation in 1945. It's purpose is to promote peace between all people, races, and nations. Australia's representative , Herbert Evatt, played an important role in it's birth and served as its president in 1948-1949.

A Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ,You are the true King of peace.

In You alone is found freedom.

Please free our world from conflict.

Bring unity to troubled nations.

Let Your glorious peace reign in every heart.

Protect the dignity of every human life.

Replace hatred with Your love.

Give wisdom to world leaders.

Free them from selfish ambition.

Eliminate all violence and war.

We ask this through Christ Our Lord.

Amen
