TERM 3 WORK EXPERIENCE
My term three work experience was at Mildura Private Hospital. I chose to do my work experience there because I’m interested in nursing and helping people, I felt it would provide valuable field experience due to its importance. I was hoping to deepen my understanding of hospital operations and what it takes to become a healthcare worker.
My expectations were exceeded; I was fortunate enough to observe many general procedures that I hadn't anticipated. I recommend this to others because it was not only enjoyable but also provided valuable experiences.

In the second week of the holidays, I completed my work experience at Agriculture Victoria with the research team. I chose Agriculture Victoria as I wanted to work in a lab as part of my work experience considering my interests in chemistry and Agriculture, Victoria’s facilities include a lab making this possible.
My goals going into work experience was to have fun and determine whether pursuing chemistry would be a suitable decision for my future. The Agriculture Victoria research team is a group of lovely, dedicated and hardworking people who I had the pleasure of working with over the five days of my placement. While I was there I witnessed and participated in their projects on beetles, lentils and almonds. Although I ended up experiencing a work environment more in biology than chemistry, I learnt just how interconnected these topics are and how I could find myself working in a more varied range of jobs then I previously imagined.
For anyone wanting to do work experience in this field, I’d strongly recommend it as you learn so much and get to meet intelligent and interesting people, and I’m sure AgVic would love to have people!
