Year 5/6 Learning Reflection
This week we are back to a semi-normal timetable, apart from Friday, when we have the Spanish Fiesta 2024 - Dia de los Muertos Celebration. Watch this space in the next newsletter for photos of the fun.
During Numeracy - Grade 5/6 students used their fraction tool kits to find equivalent fractions, fractions that are greater than or less than each other and place fractions on a number line.
As part of our Cyber Safety lessons, we have continued to work colaboratively to explore a range of challenging social online experiences and consider strategies to manage our emotional responses.
Grade 5 students have continued their work exploring biographies and are now composing a text about a class member they interviewed or a famous person they would like to research and find out about.
Grade 6's are composing an autobiography or memoir about themselves, in preparation for Graduation.
On Friday we had so much fun at our Spanish Fiesta, celebrating and remember the lives of those people who are not longer with us. We had the opportunity to learn a special Spanish dance, play a Spanish ball game, create a clay skull as part of Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead and learn how to cook and sample guacamole.Yum!
A huge thank you to Miss Irene for organising such an awesome day!! Gracias!
Last, but definitely not least, here are just some of the photos of the huge success that was The Giant Jam Sandwich.
For those of you that didn't manage to come and watch the students perform on the night, we are extremely proud of all their hard work, persistence and creativity. They were just amazing! There are more photos displayed around the school in the middle building.
