Students in the Spotlight
Sarah, a dedicated Year 11 Visual Art 3 student, has invested countless hours into her portrait work this year. As the school year draws to a close, she stands alongside her peers in Years 11 and 12, gearing up for final exams and the highly anticipated end-of-year art exhibition. We want to wish all the best to our Year 11 and 12 students.
Cooper is representing Tasmania at two upcoming national events; one event is the Australian All Schools Track and Field Championships in Brisbane where he will compete in the 1500m. The other event is the Australian All Schools 3000m Championships in Melbourne. We wish you all the very best Cooper!
Congratulations to Jesse on his selection to compete in the National Futsal Championships in Brisbane, Queensland.
Congratulations to Jacob on his selection to compete in the State Futsal Championship.
Real-World Experience
Our high school business students have teamed up with local businesses for a hands-on project that brings real-world experience to their studies! From crafting marketing strategies to creating eye-catching promotions, this class project is showcasing the incredible talent in our community. In providing personalised education, we are proud of the partnerships our students have forged with some of our local organisations! Support local and watch our students shine as they seek to serve!
Athletics Carnival
Last week, our high school was buzzing with excitement as we kicked off our annual Athletic Carnival over two action-packed days. Students from all year groups showcased their talents in various events, including track and field, and relays. The atmosphere was electric, with colorful team uniforms, spirited cheers, and friendly rivalries igniting school spirit. While students are encouraged to participate, whether they are competing or supporting their friends, it's a fantastic opportunity to foster camaraderie, promote physical fitness, and create unforgettable memories together!
Outdoor ED Biking Excursion
Our recent mountain biking excursion in Outdoor Education to Fairway Park Pump and Jump Bike Track was a fantastic experience! Students thoroughly enjoyed navigating the track, building their cycling skills, and gaining confidence in a supportive outdoor setting. With guidance from staff and plenty of fresh air, they embraced the challenge and had a great time pushing their limits. The activity was filled with energy, fun, and camaraderie, making it a memorable and rewarding outing for everyone involved.
Central Coast Leighland Stall
What an incredible day it was at the Central Coast Thank You Day! Thank you to everyone who stopped by our Leighland Christian School stall to connect and chat with our incredible Ulverstone campus primary staff, Mrs Cassie Miles and Mrs Angella Jackson.
We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of our community, and we heard many good things about LCS through alumni and local families! For those who were unaware of our school, we were happy to chat about our high quality personalised, Christian K-12 education. Stay tuned for more pop ups from our school as we make our presence known to the community. If you know of any upcoming festivals, please let us know and you might see us there!
Devonport Choral Society Production
Congratulations to Sienna, Riley, Melanie, Polly, Emilie, Lacey and Lucy who all performed incredibly in the Devonport Choral Society’s recent production of High School Musical! These exceptionally talented girls represented Leighland beautifully both on and off the stage and were a real credit to themselves and our school! We are so proud of you all!
