1 Timothy 4:12: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity."
This verse is a fantastic example of the way our Student Leader candidates conducted themselves on Friday during their campaign speeches. We have 20 students from Years 9, 10 and 11 nominating as Student leaders.
I interviewed every one of these bright, enthusiastic students and have never felt more encouraged. Their commitment to serve their school community and desire to make a difference, while remaining humble, was clearly evident.
In the assembly on Friday, students spoke confidently of their dedication to their faith and love of Leighland Christian School. They demonstrated respect and grace in acknowledging their peers and the talented field of fellow candidates.
The words of Barack Obama ring loud and clear as all candidates sought to help build our community.
