Principal's Report
Dear families,
CONGRATULATIONS
Feedback from the Trivia Night has been extremely positive. It was a great opportunity for the community to get together in a more informal atmosphere and enjoy each other’s company. Congratulations to Parents and Friends for organising such a fantastic night. We are extremely fortunate to have such a dedicated team who work tirelessly for the school. Their fundraising efforts enable our school to purchase items that enhance our teaching and learning program. In the past four months we have been able to purchase badminton equipment, goal post protectors and 20 book trolleys. The protectors have certainly made our playground safer and more attractive. Now that we have the trolleys our picture story books, and nonfiction books have been much more accessible for students to use. It has also eliminated a concerning OH&S issue. Staff and students certainly appreciate the effort P & F have made to raise funds for our school.
ANGLESEA CAMP
All reports from Anglesea, despite their unexpected stop in Murchison, have been positive. Both the students and staff are having a fantastic time. Austin the camp leader, is very impressed with our great kids. Tuesday was a big day with canoeing, raft building and team activities. Yesterday the students had the opportunity to enjoyed surfing first up.
FUN IN THE ART ROOM
Grade 3 students were totally engrossed in creating their clay turtle and adding detail with mosaic stones.
CONCERT
Concert practice commenced Monday which the children were very excited about. This year we have employed Bridget Ewart to assist with the choreography which is fantastic. She is very enthusiastic and talented. Teachers and students loved day one practice.
Currently we have the Book Fair happening before and after school. It is lovely to see children so enthusiastic about purchasing books. Many children don’t get the opportunity to go to a book shop and browse. The Book Fair will close Tuesday afternoon.
Code Camp begins this week it will give students an opportunity to hone their coding skills. Currently we have about 10 students enrolled; the sessions will run for 8 weeks from 3.30-4.45pm in the Grade 4 classroom. A big thank you to Amee for volunteering to run the program.
LONG SERVICE LEAVE
Mrs Kimmorley is taking 10 days long service leave commencing on Monday. It is very exciting time for Filippa’s family as Aspen is getting married on the 26th October. We hope they have an amazing day and the weather is kind to them. Maria Serra has kindly agreed to fill in for Filippa.
