Classroom News

This is what our students have been up to this week.

Mount Beauty Writers Festival & Andy Griffths State Library Competitions

Students in our 4/5 Class with Kathyn entered a couple of  writting competions last term.  Mount Beauty Priamry School is very proud to announce Sunni in Year 5 won second prize for the Mount Beauty Youth Writing Competition, 10-13 year age category. Please enjoy reading Sunni's story

Continuing on the celebrations students from 4/5 where invited onto Alpine Radio yesterday (Wednesday), Brunch with Fay to discuss their stories and read their story live on air. Our students were naturals at the mic and convayed their stories with confidence, animation and emotion.  Great job kids!!

We hope Tigga, Xander's dad, enjoyed the live birthday serenade from Xander and his class mates as well.  We love the shoutouts from students to parents, and noting the cross education we are lucky to have with Falls Creek Primary during winter.

A RE-PLAY of the students radio segment will be aired this SATURDAY at 2PM on Alpine Radio

In more exciting news we recieved an email confirming we have also won a signed copy of Andy Griffiths new book.

"Andy loved your student’s submissions, and Mount Beauty Primary School has been selected to receive a signed copy of Adventures Unlimited: The Land of Lost Things. Congratulations!"

Please see our link to our students submissions.

This was made possible during our book week celebrations when our classes joined in on  an Andy Griffths zoom event.  This helped the students develop ideas and looked at the structure for their submissions to competition.

We are eagerly awaiting for the book to arrive.
