Congratulations to Sunni on her achievement in the Mount Beauty Writing Festival's writing competition. On Saturday, Sunni was awarded the runner up prize in the 10-13 years age group. This is a great achievement and we were all very excited to hear the news.
On Wednesday, students who had participated in the writing competition, visited the Radio Station to speak with one of the competition's organisers and radio hosts, Fay Mason, on air, as well as to learn more about the station with Michael. Back at school, classes were listening in, as well as many families and organisations in our community. Thank you to all our students for the way in which they represented our school with so much pride, enthusiasm and respect. Many thanks also to Kathryn, Fay and Michael for facilitating the visit and to those families who took the time to provide such positive feedback about this unique learning experience. If you didn't get the opportunity to listen in, the segment will be replayed on Saturday at 2pm.
Congratulations also to all those students who participated in last week's Division Athletics in Wodonga. It is a great achievement to reach this level of competition, and we all enjoyed hearing about their experience at Monday's assembly. A number of students have now qualified for the next stage of competition, which will be held tomorrow, in Albury. Good luck Annabelle, Eli, Eloise, Luella and Sophie!
On Friday, those students in 4/5 and 5/6 who weren't competing, also took the opportunity to get up their steps with a walk around the pondage. In addition to the exercise, the walk also provided an ideal opportunity to connect with peers and to enjoy some quality moments together.
Yesterday, several of our Year 5 students visited the kindergarten with Ellen, to get to know the kinder children who will be transitioning to Mount Beauty Primary School in 2025. Many thanks to everyone involved for enabling and supporting this important transition process.
Lunchtime sport resumed yesterday and this term, students will have the opportunity to work on their tennis skills. Many thanks to Kathryn and the Mount Beauty Tennis Club for making this possible.
As if the week wasn't exciting enough, yesterday we had our first sighting of a snake. Many thanks to Jarrod for coming to our rescue, and relocating the snake into bushland, far from school!
Please note that our first Friday assembly will be held tomorrow with presentations from all classes. We hope to see you there!
