The Year 6 Connecting to Community initiative took place in our school library on Tuesday and Thursday and it was a heart warming event for everyone involved.

The visits began with delightful performances by our Senior and Junior Choirs. The Kinder children were mesmerized by the beautiful rendition of "Dandelions" sung by our Senior Choir and the Junior Choir's charming version of "The Woof song was Woofderful" brought smiles to everyone's faces.

Following the musical performances, our Year 6 leaders took the stage, with some leaders reading a picture book to the Kinder children. The young visitors were captivated by the stories, and soon after, they excitedly shared their favourite picture books with the Year 6 leaders and each other. This mutual exchange of stories fostered a love for reading and built connections between our older students and the Kinder children.

The visit concluded with the Kinder children selecting some picture books to borrow from our wonderful library collection. Our Year 6 leaders guided them through the process of borrowing books, demonstrating how to use the scanner and return books via the letterbox. The Kinder children were eager learners and some were even delighted to see their older siblings during the visit.

It was a joyful and educational experience for all and we're incredibly proud of our Year 6 leaders for their enthusiasm and dedication in making the Kinder children feel welcome and supported.

We look forward to more opportunities for collaboration with our local Kinders and are excited to see the continued growth and learning this partnership will bring.
