Athletics Carnival

We are all excited and thrilled as our annual Sports Carnival is just around the corner!

Our Sports Carnival is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to come together, have fun, and showcase their talents. Here are some important things to keep in mind as we prepare for this exciting event.

Trying Our Best and Celebrating Improvements

It’s important to always give your best effort. We have all been practicing and preparing for the different events that make up our Sports Carnival.  Remember:

  • Do Your Best: Focus on doing your personal best, not just winning.
  • Celebrate Improvements: Even small improvements are worth celebrating. Did you run faster than last time? That’s awesome!

Embracing Sportsmanship

Sportsmanship is all about playing fair, respecting others, and enjoying the game, whether you win or lose. Here are some tips to help you be a great sport:

  • Be Respectful: Always listen to the referees and teachers and treat your teammates and opponents with kindness.
  • Stay Positive: Encourage others, cheer for your friends, and celebrate everyone’s efforts.

Being a Good Winner or Loser

Winning feels great, but it’s important to be humble. If you win, remember to:

  • Congratulate Others: A simple “good game” can mean a lot.
  • Stay Humble: Celebrate your success without boasting.

If you don’t win, that’s okay too! Here’s how to be a good loser:

  • Congratulate the Winners: Show them you appreciate their effort.
  • Learn and Improve: Think about what you can do better next time and keep practicing.

Supporting Friends in Other Factions

Our school is made up of different factions, but we are all one big family. Support your friends in other factions by:

  • Congratulate Others: A simple “good game” can mean a lot.
  • Stay Humble: Celebrate your success without boasting.

If you don’t win, that’s okay too! Here’s how to be a good loser:

  • Congratulate the Winners: Show them you appreciate their effort.
  • Learn and Improve: Think about what you can do better next time and keep practicing.

Advice for Parents

Parents, you play a crucial role in helping your child develop good sportsmanship. Here are some tips:

  • Model Good Behaviour: Show respect for coaches, referees, and other players.
  • Encourage Effort Over Outcome: Praise your child for their effort and improvement, not just for winning.
  • Be Supportive: Attend events, cheer for all participants, and help your child understand the value of teamwork and fair play.

Let’s make this Sports Carnival a memorable event filled with joy, effort, and great sportsmanship. We can’t wait to see you all there, giving your best and supporting each other!
