National Science Week - Science Day

National Science Week recently unfolded from the 10th to the 18th of August, with this year's theme, 'Species Survival - More than just sustainability', underscoring the crucial role of science and innovation in the preservation and thriving of various species in our ever-evolving world.

To immerse our students in scientific exploration, we hosted a dedicated Science Day on Tuesday, 13th August. It was truly wonderful to see our students from Foundation to Year 6 fully engaged in their hands-on inquiry learning. Their enthusiasm for the diverse range of topics, including disease-causing organisms, life-saving chemicals, clean water, photosynthesis, genetic screening, the physics of building structures, artificial intelligence, and microplastics, was palpable.

Aidan (FY), Jacob (1S), James-Charles (2H), Isaac (3R), Matilda (4P), Matilda (5Z) and Lucas (6T)

A special shoutout goes to our best-dressed students who not only embraced the spirit of the day but also received their very own experimental science kits. The creativity and dedication displayed in their costumes, reflecting roles like marine biologists, astronomers, chemists, and other scientific fields, added an extra layer of excitement to the day.

We were thrilled to see every student dive into three hands-on experiments tailored to their interests, making the day both educational and exhilarating. The rich, inquiry-based learning experiences we shared were truly memorable, and we look forward to documenting and sharing these wonderful moments with our school community.

Please take a moment to view a selection of photos that were taken during my visits to each classroom on the day.
