When do students go into summer uniform?

Students change from winter to summer uniform this Monday 2 September, 2024.

Parents may use their discretion as to which uniform their child/ren wear up until Friday, 13 September should the weather be too cold.

Girl's School Uniform

Summer

Blue school pattern tunic, white above ankle length school socks,  black polishable leather shoes.

New Option: This option includes a navy coloured culotte (now in stock at Lowes) and a custom school blouse with a school logo (see diagram). Lowes has advised that they are confident stock of the blouse will be in store from Monday 28 September.

Sports

Navy shorts, school sports polo shirt with crest, school tracksuit (jacket and pants), white above ankle-length socks and predominantly white joggers with white laces.

Note: The sports jacket is only to be worn on sports days with the sports uniform. On very cold days it may also be worn with the summer or winter uniform but over the school sloppy-joe. The school sloppy-joe should be the first choice for warmth.

Boys School Uniform

Summer

Grey shorts (not cargo type), blue short-sleeved shirt with school logo, grey socks, black-polishable leather shoes.

Sports

Navy shorts, school sports polo shirt with crest, school tracksuit  (jacket and pants), white above ankle-length socks, joggers

Note: The sports jacket is only to be worn on sports days with the sports uniform. On very cold days it may also be worn with the summer or winter uniform but over the school sloppy-joe. The school sloppy-joe should be the first choice for warmth.

Smart Watches

We ask that students do not wear Smart Watches to school. Our definition of a Smart Watch is one that can take photos, videos, make calls etc. We understand that often these watches are on 'Classroom Mode' or something similar, however this is becoming very difficult to monitor. We ask that Smart Watches be kept in school bags throughout the school day. Thank you for your anticipated understanding and support of this.

Soccer Gala Day 2024

This year, our Soccer Gala Day was structured a little differently to previous years. Rather than the Juniors and Seniors being at separate venues, they were both able to play at Ocean Park Woonona on Friday, 23 August. Due to the growth of this event, a Diocesan decision was made to increase the number of playing venues. This decision allowed schools the opportunity to send more teams in each division. As a result, we were able to offer a larger number of SJB students from years 3 to 6, the opportunity to participate. St Joseph’s, along with two other schools from our diocese, participated in many games throughout the day. For some of our students, it was their first soccer experience. This didn’t stop their enthusiasm and willingness to get in and have a go.

We were very blessed with glorious weather on the day, and the students who attended represented St Joseph’s in the best way possible, giving their all and playing with good sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see so many of our students enjoying the day and having fun, which is what it’s all about!

Many thanks go to the teachers who helped to prepare the students and to the parent volunteers who managed teams so well on the day. Your support was greatly appreciated, and we couldn’t have achieved success these days without you! We are also very grateful to the Holy Spirit College students and teachers who refereed the games and to Woonona FC for the facilities. This was a wonderful community day aligned with the gala day philosophy of students enjoying physical activity for the intrinsic benefits, being a part of a team and developing skills in a positive sporting environment.

South Coast Regional Athletics Carnival

It was a great day at Beaton Park for the primary athletics selection trials on Tuesday, August 20. The sun was shining, and all SJB athletes were competitive, with many achieving outstanding results. Thank you to the parents and carers who supported our competitors. The trials aimed to select the top 2 students in each event (including relays) to be part of the Wollongong Diocesan team for the MacKillop trials in Homebush in September.

We proudly announce the students who placed 1st or 2nd in their event(s). These students will be representing not only SJB but also the Wollongong Diocese at the MacKillop trials. We wish them the very best of luck in their upcoming endeavours.

Ask your child about the weekly focus for students.

This week's focus:

Manage impulsivity! This is when I think before I do

Should I be talking? Have I followed an instruction? Am I raising my hand and waiting for my name to be called? Am I using respectful body language?
