Term 3 Week 6
Over a fortnight a different series will be in the spotlight for students to read, explore and dive into new genres, authors, texts, and stories to help expand their reading scope.
Our Spotlight Series for week 5 and 6 was the enchanting series, Amulet. An adventure-packed graphic novel series loved by many year levels.
Lauren Robertson is our fantastic Playgroup Coordinator and she has some amazing things planned for our Tuesday Playgroups this term.
Every Tuesday we hold our LNPS Playgroup. Come along with your birth to 4-year-olds between 1:30 and 3:00 pm in our LNPS library for some connection-building, playtime and interactive learning.
catalogue five is out. If you do not have a catalogue there are plenty of spares in the library. Thank you to all the families that order from Book Club, as the reward money the school gets allows us to purchase new books more often!
Please use the link below to order online, as the school is not accepting any cash payments.
Thank you and happy shopping!

The Premier's Reading Challenge is open. All forms are due end of week 6 term 3.
I encourage all students to challenge themselves and participate, as it is not only enriching to read and learn; But it also opens students up to new genres and authors as they work to fill in a different book from the PRC list. A student is only required to do one for the whole year. They are welcome to do more, but are not needed to get a certificate or medal.
Reception - Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books
Years 5 and 6 - Can borrow 10 books
Books can be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks. All that is required for borrowing is a library bag (for Reception, Year 1/2) and no overdue books. Students are encouraged to manage their own library bags and to borrow regularly.
Students can either place books they want to return in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in Tirkandi. Only staff is allowed to return books and use the returns computer. If damaged once returned place the book in the Book Doctor box for repairs.
Library computer borrowing is only for year 3s to year 6s. 8:40 - 8:50 is library borrowing time. Computer borrowing is for students who have damaged computers or have forgotten their computersthat day. When borrowing your name, class and the computer's barcode will get recorded and then students must borrow that computer under their name. At the end of the day, all library-borrowed computers must be returned to the library. If a student forgets to return their computer 3 times, then they will not be able to borrow for 3 days. If it happens again the number of days will increase.
These computers are second-hand computers, they will be slower and some keys will be tricky to press down; but please let Teachers, IT or Gena (Librarian) know if the computer has bigger damages.
The school library policy for overdue, lost or damaged books is as follows. For a library book that has been overdue / lost for 2 weeks or more or returned damaged, there will be a fee of $15. However, if the book is found or returned you will be reimbursed the full amount. Students will be unable to borrow until the book(s) are returned or the payment is made. The money goes towards replacing that book.
