Student Wellbeing
Student Wellbeing is a priority at St John Vianneys. It is embedded in all that we do.
This year we have begun using The Resilience Project which has structured lesson plans to present in each classroom.
The school has included far more lunchtime clubs based on student voice to ensure that our students have options.
Our staff use restorative practices to support student conflict or issues.
The school has completed a full review of Behavioural Plans and Safety Plans and aligned them with our Positive Behaviour for Learning.
The school has a daily Prayer routine which gives students an opportunity to share how they are feeling.
Our school with the support of a Postive Behaviour for Learning Consultant has created three values Respectful, Responsible and Resilience which will align with all behaviour matrix and taught through explicit lessons each week.
At the moment we are reviewing student leadership and are listening to student voice around how they are feeling about our student leadership program
The school has offered more opportunities for family engagement.
What does our data tell us?
Each year we collect Student Wellbeing Data and share this with staff and community.
The data is collected using a questionnaire and a survey in the year levels 3-6.
One of the tools we use to collect data is the PAT ACER Wellbeing survey. It helps us to understand are if our students are experiencing positive or negative feelings based on their external and internal strengths .
The overall social-emotional wellbeing report provides a comparison of all students from our school and all schools, as distributed across each of the five developmental level.
Overall our data was extremely positive with none of years 3-6 feeling low. The majority of our students felt happy internally, at school and at home. Next week I will share data with you from the youth resilient survey. This survey is part of the Resilience Project.
