Year 5/6 Learning Reflection
Grade 5/6 students had an awesome time during Science Day last week! They enjoyed a number of fun activities, including making their own magnetic slime, launching parachutes, folding and flying paper aeroplanes, and creating giant bubbles.
A big 'thank you' to Miss Hill and the Specialist teachers for planning and organising such a fun and learning packed day for us.
And more Science Day fun.
For Maths this week the students have been finding the Area of 2D shapes and spaces by counting the squares whilst playing the Area War game and finding the area in our environment by using the formula A = L x W.
Grade 6 looked closely at the illustrations of the book ‘Pool’ that had no text. The students brainstormed some tier 2 words that they could weave into a lead and an ending. They worked collaboratively in small groups and what was produced, was amazing!
The theme of Book Week 2024 is 'Reading is Magic!' The Grade 5/6 students have been enjoying a wide range of picture story books, sharing their own favourite books with their peers and taking part in fun activities to celebrate the magic of reading.
