Prep Learning Reflection

What a fantastic two weeks we've had in Prep this fortnight with some incredible activities and experiences for the students for Science Week & Book Week!

The Preps loved all excitement and amazement of our Science Day - thank you so much to Ms. Hill for her immense effort in making it such a special day for all of the students!

Our Book week was filled with magical stories, brilliant costumes and all of the class door decorations turned out fantastic! A huge effort and a big thank you to the students for their contributions to the week. We love books and stories and it's so good to see the students embracing and growing their love of books!

In Mathematics, the students are refining their number formations, practicing their expertise of teen numbers and have continued to learn about bundling to 10 and counting by 10s. We've also had some lessons on shapes, learning all of the properties of rectangles and learning how to identify them! 

In Reading, we've been deep diving into even more stories than we normally do! Exploring our favourite adventures, learning about characters and having some fantastic conversations about how amazing books are and the endless positivity that they can provide. 

Similarly in Writing, we've been applying all of the concepts we've learnt about the structure and elements of stories and have been writing little pieces of our own! Applying our imaginations to create our own characters, settings and problems. 

To continue our 'Safety Safari', we had a second visit from the Fire Rescue firefighters and the students loved seeing the big firetruck and even had a chance to use the hose! 

It's been fun and valuable helping the students be equipped with the knowledge and skills to be safe in their community and for them to know what to can do if there's ever an emergency.
