From the Principal

Dear Parents, Students, and Community,

Spring has certainly sprung, although it seems Jack Frost missed the memo with these chilly mornings! Nonetheless, the energy around the school is as warm as ever, and as always, there’s so much to celebrate!

I’m particularly excited for our upcoming 70s Disco-themed Concert. I’ve had a little sneak peek at some of the performances and let me tell you - the costumes and groovy dance moves are absolutely fantastic! I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the vibrant energy and creativity our students have been putting into this event. We’re also in for a treat with a plethora of Dad jokes from compère extraordinaire, Mr. Gross.

A huge congratulations to Dylan, Libby, and Felicity, who proudly represented our school and the Western Region at the NSWCHS State Athletics Championships in Homebush. A special shoutout to Felicity, who sprinted her way to a bronze medal in the 12–15-year-old girls' 100m! This is an incredible achievement, and we are all so proud of her. Also, hot off the press Aviya has qualified for the 100m at the NSWPSSA Primary State Athletics Championships in Sydney!

If you haven't already heard, we're kind of a big deal, with Year 11 student Ryan Wilks appearing live on Weekend Sunrise with his grandfriend Marg. If you missed it on the day, check out 7Plus or this link https://tinyurl.com/4wdtmd5v

Gypsy and Evelyn attended last week's Junior AECG (Aboriginal Education Consultative Group) meeting. It's wonderful to see their confidence and leadership continue to grow through collaborating with students from other schools.

Students from Year 5 to 12 proudly represented our school at the Diversity Cup, and we’re thrilled to announce that we won! A huge thank you to Carenne School for travelling to compete and helping us make new friends - we love inter-school events!

Our assemblies have been jam-packed with awards galore and outstanding performances. It’s wonderful to see our school leaders not only excelling but also gaining confidence as they speak on the microphone and present awards.

A big thank you to our amazing P&C, especially Anita, Annette, and Tiahna, who worked hard preparing for and overseeing the P&C stall on Election Day. Your efforts to support our school community are truly appreciated.

Finally, it was lovely to celebrate the hard work of our Barista Team at Eat Botanic, who enjoyed being on the receiving side of service for a change. A big congratulations also goes to our "excellent attenders", who were treated to a special Principal's Morning Tea to acknowledge those students who attended every day, or missed only one day throughout the entire term!

I look forward to seeing everyone at the concert and wish you all a relaxing and enjoyable holiday!

Warm regards,
