Sacrament of Reconciliation
Congratulations to our Year 3 Students
On Thursday, our Year 3 students celebrated the Sacrament of First Reconciliation. We thank the Year 3 teachers for preparing the students so well, and ask that you please keep these students in your prayers as they continue on their faith journey.
The students enjoyed a special afternoon tea to celebrate their First Reconciliation.
Religious Education in Term 3 at St Mary’s Class Focus for Weeks 6-9 | |
Over the next few weeks, students across all levels will be introduced to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching during their Religious Education lessons. Catholic Social Teaching speaks to the challenges of our world today. It calls us to build a just and fair society where everyone has the opportunity to flourish. |
Baptism Unit
Our Foundation and Year 1 students have now completed their Baptism unit. During the unit, students looked at the rituals of Baptism. As seen in the photos below, they enjoyed making a Baptism candle and acting out a Baptism using baby dolls.
Year 2 Explore the Church Through Craft
The Year 2 students have been learning about the church and its special features. As part of their learning, they used a variety of craft materials to create their own representations of different objects found in the church. From candles and crosses to stained glass windows, the students enjoyed bringing their ideas to life.
Carlo Acutis to be Canonized
Next week, on Sunday 7 September 2025, Blessed Carlo Acutis will be officially declared a saint by the Catholic Church. Carlo, who passed away at just 15 years of age, is known as the “millennial saint” and is remembered for his deep love of the Eucharist. Using his computer skills, Carlo created a website cataloguing Eucharistic miracles from around the world so that others could grow closer to Jesus.
Our students will learn about the life Carlo Acutis in Religious Education lessons next week.
