A message from Mrs Hodgetts
During my interactive read aloud during Book Week, dressed as Horrible Harriet, I shared with the students a photo of my two children (over 10 years ago), where they also had the opportunity to meet Leigh Hobbs!
I love students enjoying literature from Australian authors and even to this day, my children remember attending his session! I hope that our students also remember it for years to come!
In addition, you may recall in a previous newsletter that I shared that one of my favourite books was, All the ways to be smart! I love it because it highlights that being smart is not just focused on academic achievements! We were so lucky to have the illustrator, Allison Colpoys, visit and she so kindly signed by personal copy!!

BOOK WEEK FUN!
I would like to thank all teachers, staff and students for their participation in all the Book Week events and activities. A big SHOUT OUT to all the parents who organised costumes and were able to come to the parade and dance along with us!
What a week it was! Students enjoyed special guests and books. Let's have a closer look at how those visits went.
ALLISON COLPOYS
We welcomed Allison, a wonderful illustrator, who works with Australian Children's Book authors and brings their characters to life through her drawing. She read a book, 'One Little Word,' that was special to her for many reasons, one being her dedication to Jasper (one of our cherished Prep students). What a wonderful sesson for our students who loved hearing the book read to them and then creating their own drawings!
LEIGH HOBBS
We welcomed Leigh to our school and students enjoyed learning about Old Tom, Mr Chicken and other wonderful characters from his collection. Leigh captivated the students and taught us all that we can be artists!
