Book Week Parade 2025 – A Day of Adventure!
On Monday we celebrated one of the most anticipated days on the school calendar, our annual Book Week Parade! This year’s theme, Book an Adventure, really set the tone for a morning filled with colour, laughter, and imagination.
Even from the front gate in the morning, it was a joy to watch the excitement building as students arrived in costume, eager to share their creations with friends and teachers. We had everything from homemade outfits lovingly crafted at home to extravagant store-bought costumes that looked like they had leapt straight out of the pages of a book. The effort and creativity on display was truly outstanding.
Our staff also rose to the challenge, joining in the spirit of the day with some wonderfully coordinated costumes. It was hard not to smile when you spotted entire teams transformed into Treasure Island pirates, the sheep from Where is the Green Sheep?, a crowd of Where’s Wally characters, or even the magical world of Alice in Wonderland. Not to be outdone, a very convincing Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon made an appearance too!
One of the highlights of this year’s parade was the enthusiasm shown by our older students. We were especially impressed by the number of group costumes, showing not only their creativity but also their shared love of stories and reading. Seeing our students proudly celebrating their favourite characters is a wonderful reminder of how powerful literacy can be in sparking joy, friendships, and imagination.
A very big congratulations goes to our students for their efforts, and to our teachers and staff who continue to inspire a love of reading and storytelling in our community. Book Week is always a magical reminder of how special books are and 2025 was no exception!
WE WANT OUR PARENTS / CAREGIVERS / GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey opened on Monday 18 August to Friday 19 September 2025.
All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese. Resources are also available in additional languages to assist parents / caregivers / guardians who speak a language other than English at home. Please reach out to your child’s teacher, or the school directly for survey guides in your language.Last year we used the survey results to reengage families through the GLCG.Please speak to your child’s teacher if you would like more information.
