Growing Together
Head of Year 9 smcqueen1@cns.catholic.edu.au
This week, our Year 9 cohort engaged in meaningful discussions around the concept of Servant Leadership, aiming to deepen their understanding of what it means to lead with empathy, integrity, and a commitment to others. Over the coming weeks, we will focus on developing the key skills that will empower our students to become servant leaders within our school and broader community.
We have commenced the process for selecting our Junior Leaders for 2026. Students have received the application form via email, and printed copies are available at Student Reception. We are excited to read submissions, which are due by the end of Week 2, Term 4.
Additionally, we would like to highlight the potential impact of social media and excessive gaming on student well-being and academic performance. As we approach a critical period of assessment, students must prioritise both their health and their studies. We encourage you to have open conversations at home about healthy digital habits. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any concerns or would like support.
With assessment tasks due across a range of subjects in the coming weeks, Year 9 students are encouraged to stay organised and make the most of their study time. Families are welcome to refer to the Year 9 Term 3 Assessment Plannerto help support their child with upcoming deadlines. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the relevant subject teachers.

It’s a great way to contribute your ideas, support our students and staff, and help shape our school’s direction. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you!
Please feel free to get in touch smw.principal@cns.catholic.edu.au for more information or to submit your expression of interest by Friday, 12 September.
