Connect Year 6

Important Dates!

 

Literacy 

We are rolling through our onder Novel nicely.  Our Literacy sessions are packed with reading, listening, writing responses, talking through situations as a class and with a partner and then sharing.  It's pretty intense!  But it is such a moving story and I'm sure that this study will not only improve the literacy skills of our students, but have a positive effect on how we view people by getting to know what's on the inside.

 

Numeracy

The students have been challenged over the past couple of weeks with Fractions!  Decimals!  Percentages!  and how they are related.  We will be doing a couple of tasks that put these skills into real life practice over the next couple of weeks.

In the applied side of things we are still looking at angles and working out the unknown angles with the information that they have been given.  

 

Inquiry

We are looking at the life of an electrician and the different types of electricians.  We will also look at designs of houses and buildings and how they are electrically wired.  It's a lot more complex than just turing on a light switch!

 

 

 

Well-Being

We are delving into our Character strengths and what ones we over and under utilize in our lives.  If we can reflect on the type of characteristics that we have, it puts us in a more positive mindset.
