The Importance of Regular School Attendance- Skye Primary School, we know that regular attendance is key to helping your child thrive, not just academically, but socially and emotionally too. When students attend school every day, they stay connected to their learning, build stronger friendships, and feel a greater sense of belonging in the classroom.
We understand that illness and unexpected events can happen, and we appreciate families keeping us informed. If your child is absent, please record the reason via Sentral or contact the office at skye.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
If you have any concerns about your child’s attendance or if there’s anything we can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s classroom teacher. Working together helps ensure every student has the best chance to succeed.

Literacy: The text Iron Man by Ted Hughes has proven to be a hit with the students! We have learnt so much! The students have been learning why Mr Hughes used similies, to making connections to other stories and learning a plethora of new word. This text has also guided our work in sentence level activitives, vocabulary and grammar!
Numeracy: The Grade 3's have been working hard on improving their multiplication and division strategies. We have been using the CUBES strategy to solve worded problems. We also started looking at the properties and features of 3D shape!
Inquiry: See our cool blurb down below of what we have been up to in Inquiry! We have clever Grade Three students!
Wellbeing: We have been busy refreshing our 'Ready to Learn' tools and bookmarks so they are up to date and current for your childs' needs. We have also continued our unit called 'Personal and Cultural Strengths'. We have started off with learning about personal traits which are our strength such as bravery, kindness, being fair and talking about why those qualities are important.
Don't Forget! Next week we have an Open Afternoon to show off some wellbeing lessons around the school and how we work not only on the academics at school, but our social skills! Tuesday 2nd September 2:30pm - 3:15pm
Another Book Week has come and gone and it was so wonderful to see the kids so passionate about the characters they were dressing up as! We had such a wide range, from comic book characters, to series, to classics and more. Thank you to the families who supported their kids. We finished the day with a trivia altogether to celebrate!
This week on Thursday we really launched into learning about the concept of 'Solids & Liquids'. Wow, do these students have some interesting insights! We learned about the difference between materials and an object, about the properties of solids and liquids and how to tell the difference. We then explored different materials, touched them, crushed them and poured them to see how they 'behave'. We finally looked at some items underneath the microscopes which was facinating! I wonder if you could identify some of them below?
Need our emails? Here they are! Please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
