Dear Families of SMOTA,
It’s wonderful to connect with you again through our school newsletter. Each fortnight is a chance to celebrate the great things happening in our classrooms, share important updates, and keep families informed about the journey ahead. I’m proud of the way our students, staff, and families continue to work together to make our school such a positive place to learn and grow.
We are excited to announce that our School Transition Program is now underway! The program is designed to support students as they prepare for the next stage of their learning journey, helping them build confidence, form connections, and become familiar with new routines. Through a series of engaging activities and classroom experiences, students will have the opportunity to settle in smoothly and feel ready for a successful start to school life.
We absolutely loved welcoming these young people to our school and we look forward to seeing them grow within our school community for the rest of 2025!
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first assembly for 2025. It was really great to have this tradition back up and running again. It is a great opportunity to showcase the work our young people have been doing and to celebrate the achievements of all. Our next assembly will be hosted by Stage 2 in Week 8 - Thursday 11th September 2025 at 2.15pm. We warmly invite all families members to attend!
Our school is participating in the My School Survey, which gives students, parents, and staff the chance to share their experiences and provide valuable feedback about our school community. The survey is an important tool that helps us celebrate what we do well and identify areas for growth. We encourage all families to take part—your voice matters and will help shape the future of our school. The survey is due for completion by Wednesday 3rd September 2025. Responses are confidential and individual responses can not be identified. Please be assured your responses are anonymous. Thank you in anticipation of your participation.
From Term 4, students will be required to wear their full sports uniform every Wednesday and Friday. This change supports our focus on physical activity, school sport, and wellbeing programs on these days. We also hope it helps families by reducing the amount of washing and ironing needed during the week. Thank you for supporting your child to be prepared and in the correct uniform each week.
Until next time, thank you for your continued support.
