Reflection
Assumption of Blessed Mary
In Mary’s glorious assumption, we celebrate the fulfillment of our Christian destiny, and with her we proclaim the greatness of the Lord.
God our Father,
Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and your command we return to dust.
Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for my family,
relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to you alone.
In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may they rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our fears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.
Amen
Mary, taken body and soul into Heaven Pray for us.
Mary, of refugees, and exiles and whose who suffer in War Pray for us.
Mother of Jesus, who inspired the Christian Brothers, guide the students
and families of St Pius X College. Pray for us.

The Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Holy Day of Obligation (Thursday 15 August)
On Friday 15 August, the College will celebrate the Feast Day of the Assumption of Mary. Throughout the day, year groups will attend either mass or a liturgy to celebrate this significant feast day. Mary was an inspiration for Edmund Rice and the Christian Brothers, and she continues to play a significant role in our lives today for she is the true embodiment of faith. Let us be more like Mary and bring Christ to those around us.
Year 12 Trial HSC Examinations – Week 2
The Trial HSC examinations have been progressing well with many students pleased with their responses to the challenging questions of the trial papers. Please continue to pray for all our Year 12 students as they conclude (for most) their last official school-based assessment.
Prayer for Year 12 Students
Dear Lord, we ask for your blessing for our students
undertaking Trial HSC Examinations over the next two weeks.
Grant them the confidence they deserve from their years of diligent study.
Grant them the ability to comprehend questions and effectively plan
and articulate their responses.
May they be enriched by the gift of the Holy Spirit – Wisdom,
Understanding, Fortitude and Knowledge.
May their faith and piety give them the strength to face these examinations and the satisfaction of achieving their personal best.
We ask these things through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
Explore Your Future: University Open Days Now On!
Universities across NSW are currently welcoming prospective students through their gates as part of their annual Open Day programs. These events offer a fantastic opportunity to explore a wide range of study options, tour campus facilities, and gather valuable information about university life.
From course offerings and career pathways to accommodation, scholarships, and financial support, Open Days provide insights that can help students make informed decisions about their future.
While many families wait until Year 12 to begin attending Open Days, there’s growing recognition of the benefits for younger students, even as early as Year 9, to start exploring what universities have to offer. Early exposure can spark interest, broaden horizons, and help students begin to shape their academic and career goals.
I encourage parents, older siblings, and friends to accompany our students to these events. Visiting Open Days together can be a meaningful way to discover the university that best fits their aspirations and the courses that may inspire them.
Celebration of Learning Ceremony
We are looking forward to next Monday's Celebration of Learning where we acknowledge the efforts of students in Year 7 - 10 from Semester 1. The ceremony commences at approximately 11:20 am.
Parents are welcome to view the livestream of the ceremony. Please use the link below.

Celebrating a Fantastic Rugby and Football Season!
As the Rugby and Football season draws to a close, I would like to take a moment to congratulate all our teams for their incredible effort, sportsmanship, and commitment throughout the season.
Week after week, our players have shown determination, teamwork, and pride in representing their school.
While not every team can progress to the semi-finals, we are immensely proud of the way each player has contributed to their team and supported one another on and off the field.
To the teams who have made it through to the semi-finals, congratulations! We wish you the very best of luck as you take on this exciting challenge. Play with heart, give it your all, and most importantly, enjoy the moment.
We hope to see many of you in the Grand Final next week!
Thank you to our coaches, managers, families, and supporters for your unwavering encouragement throughout the season. Your support makes all the difference.
Let’s finish the season strong.
