BOOK WEEK 2025

Book Week is almost here!

BHNPSK is getting ready for an exciting week, celebrating the books and authors we all love, and the creativity of our own student authors.

This year's CBCA Book Week theme is 'Book An Adventure'. During Writing sessions, students have been busily preparing a piece to proudly display during the Writer's Festival. Students from 4-year old Kinder to Year 6 will submit their pieces for judging, with finalists and winners being announced at the Book Week Parade on Friday 22nd August!

Community Event

You are invited to join us for the Book Week Parade and for Open Classrooms on Friday 22nd August. During the parade, students will show off their creative costumes, and awards will be given to finalists and winners of the Writer's Festival. During open classrooms, you are welcome to join your child for a writing activity in their classroom, and to take them out to view their writing piece and get photos. You are also invited to have your own 'gallery walk' throughout the school to see the amazing work of all our student authors and school door displays. Students will get the opportunity to go on their own 'gallery walk' with their class later in the day.

What else is on?

Also during Book Week, students will engage in a range of Reading and Writing activities to explore and celebrate the CBCA shortlisted stories for 2025. Year 3-6 students will participate in the Prime Minister's Spelling Bee. All students will have the opportunity to visit the Book Fair held in the Library with their class, and you are welcome to visit with your child at any time during the Book Fair.
