This week (Monday 11 – Friday 15 August) we have been recognising the Bullying No Way! National Week of Action. The 2025 theme, Be bold. Be kind. Speak up., has been the focus of discussions in our Welcome Circles and THRIVE lessons across all classes. Students have explored what it means to stand up for themselves and others, how to respond to unkind behaviour, and ways to create a safe and respectful school environment.
We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home. Below are some useful programs and resources you may wish to explore together:
Bully Stoppers – An online toolkit with evidence-based, practical advice and resources to help schools, parents and students understand, prevent and respond to bullying.
Safe Socials – Supports students, families and schools to help young people stay safe and have positive online experiences.
Students in Year 4-6 will complete the Dolly’s dream Bullying workshop. This bullying workshop creates a safe environment for students to discuss bullying openly. Participants will learn to identify different forms of bullying, understand the serious and real effects it has on individuals and the broader school community, and explore practical strategies to foster a positive school culture
It’s okay not to be okay – Monday 27th October. Students in Year 6 will participate in the Backpack for Life workshop. The aim of this workshop is to build mental health literacy, resilience and equip students with a tool kit to deal with tough times.
This term we are focussing on Lining Up Expectations. The purpose behind the quiet, orderly line up is students showing us they are ready to learn and ensure they are entering in a calm and orderly way. These expectations will be across the entire school, including specialist classes. Please see below the expectations for lining up before school and after each break.
