Newsletter Report – Term 3, Week 4
The fun continues at Langy Park!
Open Night
Open Night was a fantastic success! Our school was buzzing with excited students, siblings, and parents exploring classrooms and specialist areas, showcasing the incredible opportunities Langy Park has to offer.Thank you to everyone who came along—and did you spot Bella? Our silent auction for a Bella portrait is still open until the end of August. Entries can be placed in the box at the front office.
School Disco
What a night! Huge thanks to our Parents and Friends Club (PFC) for organising such a fun, glitter-filled event. This year’s extra stations—like the tattoo stand and glow room—were a big hit with students.
Junior School Talent Show – Finale Next Week
Congratulations to all our talented performers! We are so proud of every student who has taken part so far and can’t wait for next week’s finale. Stay tuned for more amazing performances.
NAPLAN ResultsWe are proud to share that our NAPLAN results this year were outstanding! More detailed information will follow soon, but we would like to sincerely thank our Curriculum Leaders for their hard work in building strong routines, processes, and evidence-based practices.Thank you to our entire school community for your ongoing support in student learning.
Behaviour Focus: Respectful Lining Up
This term, our whole-school behaviour focus is on lining up respectfully. At the first bell (8:55am), students are expected to go straight to their classrooms, line up quietly, and greet their teacher. This helps create calm, orderly classrooms and a smooth start to the day. Thank you for reinforcing this routine at home.
Parking Reminder – Designated Zones
Thank you to families using the Kiss and Go zone correctly and following parking rules—it helps keep our school safe and efficient. Please note:
- Staff car park is for staff only.
- Swimming pool spots are for families attending lessons.Your cooperation ensures fairness and safety for all.
Play Equipment – Before and After School
We love seeing our community enjoy the playground—it has reduced vandalism and created a welcoming space. Our equipment is zoned for different age groups for safety reasons. We kindly ask that:
- At 8:45am (when staff are on duty) all students move to their designated zones to signal the start of the school day.
- After school, staff are on duty until 3:45pm. After this time students are sent to the front office to wait in a safe space whilst staff attend their meetings.
- We understand you may wish to stay with your children to play on equipment in after 3:45pm. While doing so, please encourage them to continue demonstrating our school values of respect, resilience, and citizenship.
Use of School Grounds – No Dogs Allowed
A reminder that dogs (except Bella) are not permitted on school grounds. Unfortunately, we have had some issues with dogs leaving mess in student play areas. New signage will soon be installed around the oval to help keep our grounds safe and clean.
Building Works & Grounds Update
Great news—railings are being installed on our ramps, and construction zones will gradually be removed. We have started rejuvenating the garden near Gate 1, clearing the area for better visibility and planning a possible pathway for students. Our Building & Grounds Committee is also redesigning the front garden around the flagpole—watch this space! In the middle school, structural work is underway in the toilets, with painting and beautifying to follow.
Coming Up Soon:
Year 5 Camp to Sovereign Hill
Book Week
Book Week Parade
Kind regards
Deb Haddow
Acting Principal
We know life is busy, but there’s real power in community. We’re calling on our local legends to help with a few small projects — things we’d rather not outsource if we can keep it in the neighbourhood!
We’re currently looking for:
A licensed gas plumber for compliance checks
Carpenters for a fencing project
An air conditioning mechanic (for holiday servicing)
A landscaper for garden planning
Green thumbs for light weeding and pruning
Even an hour of your time makes a big difference. If you’re able to help or want more info, please contact the front office — Bluey, our Facilities Manager, will be in touch.
Let’s keep building a strong, connected community — together!
