Ms Brea Terris

Dear Families,
Today, we’re thrilled to welcome a special visit from the Melbourne Cup itself! The students were very excited to see the famous trophy up close.
It’s was a wonderful chance for everyone to learn about this iconic Australian event right here at school.
As always, the organisers praised our students for their outstanding respect during the presentation and for asking thoughtful, insightful questions.
New Gate on Murlong Street
We have installed a brand-new gate at the end of the BER building on Murlong Street. This gate will be open all day, making it the main entrance and exit for drop-offs and pickups. To keep everyone safe, all other gates around the school will be locked during the day. Our office team will be monitoring the Murlong Street gate to assist with any questions or concerns.
Book Week
A big thank you to all our families who put in an amazing effort to dress up for Book Week – the students and staff looked absolutely amazing!
Portable
Starting Monday, a new portable classroom will be installed on our grounds. To ensure everyone stays safe and traffic flows smoothly during this time, we will have traffic controllers at the school in the morning to guide parents and students. Please follow their instructions and be patient as we complete this exciting upgrade.
Hats
Students will need to wear their school hat as of the 1st of September. Hats can be purchased at the office.
Parking
Please be aware that Police and Swan Hill Rural City Council have been monitoring parking on Murlong Street before and after school due to the ongoing building works.
Please ensure bus bays are kept clear before and after school.
We kindly ask all families to please use the designated school crossing on Murlong Street to ensure everyone’s safety. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our school community safe.
Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey
Our school is conducting the annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online from Monday 25 August to Friday 19 September 2025.
All families will be invited to participate in the survey. An email will go out with the details early next week.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
2026 Enrolments
We are really excited to be accepting so many enrolments for 2026.
If you know of any families who would like a tour of the school, please encourage them to contact the office.
Uniform
Please ensure students are in full school uniform. It is important that students have a school jumper on and not a casual jumper. We have spare jumpers at the office if students need them.
Students will be asked to take beanies and coats off inside so they can stay warm outside.
Duty of Care
Families are reminded that teachers are on duty before school from 8.30am-8.50am and after school from 3.20pm until 3.30pm. Children should not be unattended in the school grounds before or after these times. Thank you for your support and co-operation with this.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind Regards
Brea
