Important Things To Know

2026 Enrolment Intentions Survey (F-Yr 5)
Dear Parents / Caregivers (Current Foundation to Year 5 families only),
We have begun planning in preparation for 2026 and our understanding of enrolments for next year helps us to resource the learning that will take place.
An email was sent out on Tuesday regarding enrolment intentions for 2026. We kindly ask that you take time to complete this very brief survey to notify of your intentions. Parents are reminded of the school's 'term in advance' notification policy. Late withdrawal of enrolment may require the payment of tuition fees for Term 1 2026.
Returns are due by Tuesday 9 September 2025.
If you would like to discuss your child's enrolment at Good Shepherd, please contact Amber in the front office, or email registrar@gspv.sa.edu.au to arrange a meeting.
Thank you to the families that have already completed this survey.
Personal Photography at School
For the safety and privacy of all children, the use of mobile phones or cameras for personal photography or filming of students (including at Worship, Assemblies, or other school events) is not permitted under our Child Safe Adult Code of Conduct policy.
Professional photography and filming are managed by the school, with images and videos shared thoughtfully and responsibly. We carefully respect family preferences, strictly follow our Do Not Publish list, and allow families to update permissions at any time through the Parent Lounge or by contacting Mrs Reddy.
Photos and videos are shared in two ways:
- Securely through SeeSaw, Parent Lounge (TASS), email, or the password-protected unlisted video page of our website
- Publicly via the school’s social media profiles, newsletter, and website
When sharing publicly, we do so selectively and with care and integrity, always mindful of safety, and that the internet is permanent and children’s feelings about being online may change as they grow. Images used in paid advertising require additional, specific consent from families.
If you have any questions, please contact Ali May, Risk & Compliance Manager.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Playground Redevelopment Update
Middle Primary Playground
Things are certainly coming along in this space!
The team have been working diligently despite the occasional rainy day. There's still a little more work to go before the playground is ready for use by the children, including:
- Installation of garden furniture and seating
- Removal of pavers and replacing with a new cobblestone path
- Bark chip soft fall around play equipment
- Landscaping of garden beds
- Safety audit
Once completed, the team will move onto removal and replacement of the Junior Primary Playground, and installation of additional play equipment along the oval edge, finalising the redevelopment of our play spaces by the end of this year.
A friendly reminder that when works on the Junior Primary playground begin, there will be disruptions to before-school and after-school play and use of the carpark. When more specific details of this information are known, we will communicate these disruptions in both the newsletter and email.
Outdoor Classroom
The Outdoor Classroom has now been completed and has come together beautifully.
The area remains cordoned off for just a little while longer to give the lawn some time to regrow before allowing use by our students, staff, and families.
This space will be finished by early in the new year with the re-integration of our aquaponics system, making the Outdoor Classroom a holistic learning space for students, bringing together their practical knowledge with in-class learning.
School Times
Transitions can be a tricky time for students, particularly younger students or those that need additional behavioural or emotional support. Sticking to a schedule, being on time, and allowing time for transition greatly helps with setting students up for a successful day and helping them feel safe and secure. Please be aware of our school times to help assist your child/children with their daily transitions.
Before school
Students and families may access the school grounds starting at 8:15 am. Please refrain from arriving earlier unless your child is enrolled in the Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) program. Students walking, riding their bikes, or using public transport are to time their arrival to be onsite no earlier than 8.15am when staff will be on duty. Staff are on duty from 8:15am at the Gym/Courts and Junior Primary play areas.
Morning Class Times
Classrooms open at 8.30am. Morning playtime ends at 8.38am and all students are to make their way to class and seated ready for classes to commence at 8.40am. All parents are to exit classrooms to allow for teaching to begin.
After School
Children are dismissed from classrooms at 3pm. Unless they have a bus or OSHC booking, all children will be waiting at Kiss & Drop where staff are on duty until 3:30pm. Teacher Kiss & Drop supervision concludes at 3.30pm. Any students remaining in this space after this time may be booked into OSHC and fees charged accordingly.
The Hard Play and Oval areas are reserved exclusively for OSHC participants.
If you are supervising siblings of students in after-school sports activities, please ensure you are providing supervision on the Junior Primary playground. Families are encouraged to utilise the Junior Primary playground while providing adult supervision until 4:15pm (subject to change, pending OSHC needs to meet licencing and insurance requirements.)
School Absences
Please don't forget, if your child is going to be absent from school you will need to notify both their classroom teacher and the front office. You can do this using the Parent Orbit App (Please download this if you haven't already done so - See Welcome Newsletter 'Important things to know' for information on how to download).
You can also report absences via TASS Parent Lounge, email or phone call.
Enrolments
GSPV & Curiosity
Foundation places in 2026 at Good Shepherd Lutheran School are at capacity. As a result, we are no longer accepting enrolment applications or offering tours for families seeking to commence in 2026.
ELC 3 & 4yo program 2026, and Foundation 2027 and 2028 places are filling fast.
If you are considering Good Shepherd for siblings, or encouraging family and friends to have their children join our school community, we strongly encourage to submit an application for enrolment as soon as possible. There is no fee to apply.
High School Enrolments
Families with students in Years 4-6 looking ahead to secondary education are encouraged to consider Endeavour College, our Connected Schools partner. Good Shepherd students receive priority consideration for enrolment at Endeavour, however, this does not guarantee a place.
We strongly encourage families to submit applications as early as possible to avoid disappointment as places fill quickly. Early enrolment ensures your child is best positioned for a smooth transition to secondary school, and particularly Endeavour College.
Car Park
There has been a noticeable improvement with carpark speed and safety this term. Thank you so much to everyone for your collective efforts in prioritising the safety of our students and their families, it is so wonderful seeing this care in action.
Speed
The speed limit in both lanes of our carpark - from entering at the church driveway until passing the Curiosity ELC driveway on Hillary Crescent - is strictly 10kmh (walking pace).
Pedestrian Crossing
When unmonitored – cars are to give way to pedestrians – however if you are a pedestrian, please check carefully before stepping into the lanes of traffic.
When monitored – please follow the directions of staff and the lollypop sign. They are there to keep pedestrians safe and to support the smoothest flow of traffic as possible.
Kiss and Drop
There is one lane of traffic through the kiss and drop zone (left hand side, nearest to the verandah) and one lane parking and through traffic (right hand side). Please be courteous and patient in your use of this space.
- Students may get out of or into cars that are stationary anywhere between the Yellow and Red diamonds.
- Please move as far as practically forward so that it is safe for you to pull out of the kiss and drop lane.
- Please do not get out of your car to assist children, if using 'kiss and drop' they need to be able to get into or out of the car themselves and strap themselves in.
- If your child sits in the K – Z space, please continue forward as far as safely possible to maximise space and allow more cars to be collecting students at the same time.
- Students have been reminded of their responsibility to be ready to get into the car, and to predict and listen to teacher guidance when looking to where they will be getting into the car. Students must only be entering and exiting vehicles on the verandah side of the car.
Bus Stop
In South Australia, you cannot stop or park within 20 metres of the approach to a bus stop and not within 10 metres of the departure of a bus stop at all times. Please look out for the signage and adhere to the yellow road markings.
U-Turns
When performing a U-Turn on Montague Road at Milligan Drive, you must give way to vehicles entering Montague Road from Milligan Drive. Please also be mindful of oncoming vehicles, pedestrians, and bicycles.
