PBL - Right Place Right Time ~
Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
This week, our students are learning about Habit 2 – Begin with the End in Mind, which encourages them to set goals and make thoughtful choices to achieve success. In the classroom and playground, this means always being in the right place at the right time. Whether it's arriving promptly for lessons, being prepared with the right materials, or lining up safely after breaks, students are learning that planning ahead helps everything run smoothly.
By thinking about the outcome they want, whether it's finishing a task, being ready for learning, or showing responsibility, students are developing important life skills. We’re proud to see our learners becoming more independent, organised, and focused on doing their best.
Let’s continue to support our children in making smart choices and thinking ahead, because great things happen when we begin with the end in mind!
Things you can do ~ to Support Habit 2!
- Use a visual planner or checklist to organise themselves and the family.
- Encourage your child to think about their day each morning: What do they need to do? Where do they need to be?
- Use prompts like: “What’s your plan for today?” or “What’s the first thing you need to do when you get to school?”
- At dinner or bedtime, ask: “Did you achieve what you planned today?” or “What could you do differently tomorrow?”
- Celebrate small wins and talk about how planning helped.
- Help your child create a simple weekly planner with school, sport, and home responsibilities.
Discuss how being in the right place at the right time helps everything run smoothly.
Write a Book in a Day
Once again, some of our senior students will be participating in this wonderful competition. The challenge is to write a book in one day as well as raising money for children with cancer. The children work from 8am until 5pm, and they have to draft, write, edit and illustrate the book in that time, based around certain characters and settings given on the day. This day will be on Wednesday 3rd September.
We are able to fundraise for this worthwhile cause until the end of September. If you are able to donate, please use this link to our Holy Family team page:

You can donate as little or as much as you would like. Some idea of what your donations can support are as follows:
BOOKWEEK 2025!
The halls of Holy Family have been alive with excitement as students immersed themselves in the magical world of stories, imagination, and adventure! From colourful costumes to creative activities, we’ve been celebrating the joy of reading in true Book Week style.
Our celebrations kicked off with a lively performance by Meerkat Productions, which had the children giggling with delight. The laughter continued with a hilarious staff performance of “Book an Adventure”—a crowd favourite that had everyone in stitches!
Next up was our much-loved Book Parade, where students proudly showcased their creative and colourful costumes, bringing their favourite characters to life!
We wrapped up the festivities with a round of book trivia, challenging our knowledge of beloved stories and authors.
There’s truly nothing like the magic of books to spark joy, laughter, and a lifelong love of learning.
Have a lovely weekend,
