Principal's News

Dear Familes and Friends,
I hope you are all looking forward to our shool fete this Saturday 15th March. Thankyou again for all those who have been working behind the scenes in the lead up. I know that we can once again expect some delicious cakes and other treats at our wonderful bake sale and barbecue stands. If you have not already please spread the word to friends and neighbours as we would love to see lots of people attending on Saturday.
Before and After School entry
Dear families it has become increasingly busy before and after school at the office entrance which makes it very difficult for our office staff at these times. Unless you are visiting the office for any reason could you please use the Kent Street gates to enter and exit the school. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
School Closure Day - Friday 7th March
Last Friday's school closure day was a great success for all the staff at Trinity as we worked togehter with leaders from MACS Wellbeing Team as well as our own Mr Ru and Mr Gahan. The content of the day and the professional learning for staff was invaluable and enabled great discussion and learning for our staff. Thank you all again for your support in enabling these important days to take place.
School Fee Statements
Ms Ellen has sent home school fee accounts this week and I thank all those who have already completed or begun making these payments. Our school fees are, of course, a very important part of our school budgetting and we rely on this money to cover the costs of resources, incursions etc and enable us to provide the resources and suport our children all need.
As always please let us know if you have a Concession Card or Health Care Card as you may be eligible for fee support.
NAPLAN
This week our Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN testing began with all students completing the writing test. This year's writing required all students to complete a narrative piece using the stimulus provided. Our year 5 students completed this test online whilst our Year 3s completed the writing task with paper and pen. Next year all students will move to online. The tests will be completed next week and we will continue working with the children to ensure they are well prepared for each of these.
Free student broadband offer extended.
The Australian Government has announced an additional $4.9 million in funding to NBN Co to extend the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI) to 30 June 2028 to ease cost-of-living pressures and narrow the digital divide for unconnected families with school-age children. The extension will allow the free service to continue for new and existing families, with up to 30,000 places available in the program. To apply, families and carers are encouraged to contact the National Referral Centre run by Anglicare Victoria on 1800 954 610 (10.00 am – 6.00 pm Monday to Friday) or visit www.anglicarevic.org.au/student-internet.
School Expectations and Student Behaviour
We will continue to remind our children each day of our expectations, both in the classroom and outside in the playground. We also appreciate your support in reminding your children about appropriate behaviour and problem solving particularly while playing games outside.
Clubs
Our clubs program has been running successfully these past few weeks and is giving many children an opportunity to work and play with children from across other year levels. Whilst providing fun and engagement, these activities also enable children to develop their social skills and build positive relationships with other children.
