Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the halfway point of this term we would like to acknowledge the staff and students for their efforts so far this term. In Week 5 our 3 Way Learning Conferences took place. Once again, these conferences were very successful and proved to be a fantastic opportunity for our students to discuss and reflect on their individual learning goals for the academic year ahead with their teachers and parents.
Research shows that strong parent-student-school partnerships have a positive impact on student achievement. One simple way of being involved is to ask your child what they have 'learned' at the end of each school day, not what they have 'done'. A simple change of language places the focus on learning rather than on completing tasks carers.
Next Tuesday we will be having our Term 1 Family BBQ. This will commence at 5:30pm. Throughout the evening there will be a number of information sessions, from classroom routines to LWLW and our schools reading program. This is also a great opportunity to enjoy and meet the new families within our community. Please see flyer below for more information.
Our enrolment period for Kindergarten 2026 is now open! For enrolment details please contact the office for further information. Enrolment applications must be accompanied by the relevant supporting documents as listed on the cover page of the application form.
The spiritual theme for the 2025 Holy Year of Jubilee is ‘Pilgrims of Hope’. This year is a special year of grace and conversion, involving prayer, pilgrimage and sacramental repentance, ordinarily held every 25 years. The goal of a Jubilee year is to inspire and encourage holiness of life among the faithful and therefore to strengthen the Church’s witness to God’s loving mercy in and for the world.
The most striking element of the Jubilee 2025 logo is the cross, which bends toward humanity and takes the shape of an anchor. This symbolizes the cross as a source of strength and refuge, especially in turbulent times. It offers a modern interpretation of a timeless biblical image, echoing the words of Hebrews 6:19: "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
Far from being a relic of the past, the cross remains a vibrant symbol of God’s boundless love. It unites and carries us forward on our shared pilgrimage toward heaven. Hope does not disappoint.
