Reminders:

Laptops need to be charged and at school every day.

Welcome to Level 3 2025!

Weeks 5 and 6 were very productive for all of the Level 3 students. We are actively preparing for NAPLAN and practising logging onto the NAPLAN icon on the laptop desktop. The students are exploring their way around their individual laptops and are enjoying practising their keyboard skills.

NAPLAN

Congratulations Everyone, you did it! We are all very proud of the students for their ability to learn something new in a short period of time (using laptops and the app) and then completing 4 tests over the past 8 days.  We are looking forward to our excursion on Monday to celebrate all our hard work!

Literacy

In Literacy we have been practising syllables and the 1-1-1 Rule as well as various spelling rules. We are also learning about Contractions. A Contraction is a shortened version of two or more words that are combined to make one word. For example, the word 'Don't' is a contraction of the two words 'Do Not'. The students are also learning to identify and recognise spelling errors in sentences and then change the spelling word to the correct spelling. Narrative and persuasive writing has also been practised and the students are actively revising nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs and pronouns for use in their writing.

Maths

In Maths we have been revising and learning about geometry as well as fractions. We are still enjoying our Place Value number identification as well as Worded Maths Questions. We have also continued to practise NAPLAN questions by rereading to understand what the question is asking us to do and looking at strategies for when we are confused.

Inquiry

In Inquiry we are learning about friendships groups and communication. We are learning that our communication generally changes depending on who you are communicating with. We have nearly finalised our Powerpoints about ourselves and by doing so we are learning new computer skills. We have become so confident on our laptops in such a short time.

GEM Chat - take a moment (maybe in the car or at the dinner table) and discuss why empathy is so important at school.
