Physical Education Lessons

This term is proving to be another action packed start to the year in Sport and PE. We are incredibly lucky to have received some Sporting Schools money this term which is funding an Athletics coach, Jay Stone.  Jay is working with our Stage 2 students on their skills in the areas of long jump, high jump, discus, shotput and sprinting.

This term, all stages are working on our fundamental movement skills - running, hopping, skipping, jumping, balancing, side-galloping, kicking, throwing and catching. The students are required to perform these skills in isolation, drills, games and during fitness circuits using a variety of equipment.

Some of the most favourable games this term have been Frost and Thaw, No Go, Cut the Cake and Captain Ball.

Just a little reminder to all students to remember their hats! We are often out in the full sun for our PE classes and need to be sun safe where we can.

I look forward to the many more exciting activities that we have planned this year.
