Congratulations to Ava K (3/4D) who won the Aussie of the Month Award.

Ava is considerate of others and she is always willing to have a go.  She kindly agreed to jump into another relay race, so all students got to swim and have a go. Ava has  demonstrated qualities of mateship and showed fantastic perseverance.

Congratulations to Gus H for receiving the Senior Light the Way Award for persevering in all areas of the curriculum and making steady gains.

Foundation Police Visit

On Monday FE had a visit from our local policeman, Sergeant Stuart Burnham (Lacey's Dad).  Here is what Lucas from FE had to say about the visit.

What did you learn about in the police visit?

We learned about how the police can help when someone is trying to steal, and they can also help if someone is lost. They also use police  dogs to make criminals. We also put out finger prints on paper like the criminals do.

We wanted to say a BIG thank you to Sergeant Burnham for giving up his time and visiting us here at St Brigid's.  Our Foundation students absolutely loved his visit.

Inform and Empower

Two weeks ago we we watched a video about how to be cyber safe and how to encourage others to do the right thing.  It was about not being a bystander.  During the session we did a kahoot quiz on cyber safety and we got into teams of two to play.

NED's Resilience Ride

Last Thursday we all enjoyed an incursion called NED's Resilience Ride.  Ned was lots of fun and he taught us to have a positive attitude, never give up, try your best and always encourage each other. It was very fun hearing all of Ned's stories. You could also buy some yoyos, a $15 classic $20 for a super spinner, and $25 for different special yo yos.

NED stands for:

Never give up

Encourage others

Do your best

PMP

Each week our Foundation students take part in PMP (Perceptual Motor Program). We asked Zara about what she likes about PMP.

I liked playing with my friends, learning new activities, practicing sports while listening to music and jumping through the ladders.

Ash Wednesday

On Wednesday we celebrated Ash Wednesday with a Mass and Father Huy. It was held upstairs in the middle of the 5/6 area. Ash Wednesday is a special day for us as it the start of Lent and it is where we put a cross on our forehead to show we belong to Jesus Christ and that we are asking for forgiveness of our sins.
