Praying for our school together

Primary School   

Year 6 Boys & Girls Bible Study 

  • Student Leaders – Pray that our senior student leaders will lead with humility, kindness, and a deep love for God’s Word.
  • Attendance & Impact – Thank God for the strong turnout from Primary students, and ask that He would use these gatherings to plant seeds of lifelong faith.
  • Leader Growth – Pray that leaders will grow in their understanding of Scripture and deepen their love for Christ as they use their gifts to serve Him. 

Year 5/6 CRU Group

  • Leader Training – Praise God for the recent training our Year 5/6 CRU leaders received on “Loving Others in Practice.”
  • Leadership Growth – Pray that these student leaders will continue to grow in their leadership skills and reflect God’s love as they help lead the CRU group each week.
  • Gospel Clarity – Ask that students attending will clearly hear and understand the gospel as they study the book of Luke and learn what it means to follow Jesus as King.

Year 5 Canberra Trip

  • Safety & Fellowship – Pray for a safe, smooth, and enjoyable trip as Year 5 students travel to Canberra (2-4 July) and that it will be a time of learning, connection, and positive experiences.

New K–2 Bible Club

  • New Lunchtime Program – Praise God for the launch of a new Bible Club for K–2 students during lunchtimes, and for the staff who have generously committed their time to lead it. Pray that through this ministry, seeds of faith will be planted in young hearts and begin to grow.

Secondary School 

Praise and Thanksgiving 

  • Praise for God’s Work – Giving thanks that God continues to be at work in the lives of staff, students, and parents at NCS.
  • Praise for God’s Word – Grateful that He continues to speak through His Word during assemblies, devotions, biblical studies, and classroom lessons.

Leadership and Student Discipleship

  • Student Leaders – Praying that they will grow in Christlikeness and persevere in fulfilling their leadership responsibilities.
  • Bible Study Leaders – That God would raise up new leaders among our Year 9 students.
  • Stage 6 Biblical Studies (Years 11 & 12) – Pray for Mr. Petts as he leads Senior Christian Education, exploring the missionary expansion of the Church throughout history. Ask the students:
    • Recognise how Jesus has changed history and inspired generations
    • Be stirred by the courage and sacrifice of missionaries, past and present
    • Understand their role in God’s mission and be willing to live and speak for Jesus today
    • Hear the gospel clearly, respond in faith, and become part of God’s kingdom

Spiritual Growth & School Life

  • Assembly Speakers – Pray for those presenting under the theme “Wiser with God”:

    Mr. Asher (30 May) – Jesus: Servant of God (Mark 10:35–45)

    Mrs. Thompson (13 June) – Jesus: Image of God (Colossians 1:15–20)

    Mr. Petts (27 June) – Jesus: Treasure of God (Colossians 2:2–8)

  • Student Growth – Ask that students and staff will:
    • Follow Jesus’ example by serving others humbly and sacrificially
    • Know and worship Jesus as the true image and fullness of God
    • Treasure Christ above all else, stand firm in His truth, and seek daily wisdom from God’s Word
  • Snow Trip – Pray for the safety of all students and staff and that it will be a time of fellowship and enjoyment.

Academic Pathways & Decisions

  • Subject Selections – Pray that students will make wise and informed subject choices, leading to growth in knowledge and skill.
  • Year 10 Students – For wisdom and clarity as they decide whether to continue their schooling or pursue other options.
  • Senior Students – As they begin their HSC studies, pray they will persevere. For those working on major projects, ask that they use their time effectively.

Staff and Community 

  • Staff – For good health and strength as they complete assessments and prepare reports for the end of Semester 1.
  • Pastors' Connections Breakfast - Pray for unity and strengthened partnerships in faith. 
  • 321 course - Praise God for the opportunity to run this course, and that God will continue to be working in the hearts of the parents who participated. 
  • Long Weekend - Pray for a safe and restful long weekend for all families and staff.
