Cooking

Students in their Wide World of Food class Completed their Mediterranean assessment practical. Each pair had to do their own research on a Mediterranean country. The students had to find authentic ingredients for their chosen cuisine. The students ordered their ingredients and made their chosen recipes. The students did very well and they enjoyed presenting their dishes.

2025 Athletics Carnival

Our annual School Athletics Carnival, held on the 8th of May, was a great success! With blue skies overhead and staff and students cheering across the oval, students from all year levels came together to participate and show support to their fellow school mates.

The day was filled with lots of smiles, laughs and hard work from both the students and staff.

A huge congratulations to Dargo for taking home the House Cup this year, and to all our age champions for their outstanding efforts, good luck to all our students going onto the next round!

We were even lucky enough to have our very own DJ on board spinning his decks, suppling the students and staff with the great 'tunes' for the day, thankyou Kody!

White Card

While the rest of the school were hard at work winning ribbons we had Paige, Finn and Abby, take the opportunity to complete their white card on Thursday. These students spend the day working hard to complete their white card certificate. We are extremely proud of their hard work and achievements.

Year 9 Enterprising People

On Thursday the 1st of May the Year 11 Business Management and Year 9 Enterprising People classes held the first Market Day of 2025. Students in both classes used a business plan and marketing to help them run their business on the day. Businesses included: mars bar, rocky road, malteser and kit kat slices, chocolate balls, hamburgers, sausages, hotdogs, spiders, brownies, Tanghulu, ice-cream sandwiches and sundaes, cupcakes, mystery boxes, and hot chips. The students raised approximately $500 for charity. Thankyou to all students and staff that supported the three classes.

Morrisby

What a week it's been, our Year 9 students participated in the Morrisby Career Profiling program - a valuable step in helping them explore their individual strengths, interests, and potential career paths. Each student will receive a personalised report and have the chance to discuss their results with a career advisor. It has been a great opportunity for students to start thinking about their futures and what subjects or careers might suit them best.

We’re proud of the mature and reflective way our students engaged with the process.

Year 9 Outdoor Ed Canoeing Trips

Well, well, well... where do we start with these two adventurous outings? Let’s just say, the canoeing trips for Year 9 were a bit different – and we’re not just talking about the paddling.

The boys’ canoe trip was nothing short of an epic quest – sunshine, adventure, and enough snacks to feed a small country. The lads set off with high spirits, paddling towards the bluff. Along the way, there were some slightly unexpected moments (like the fact that some forgot food, water, and a change of clothes... but who needs those things, right?).

And no, this was not a tactical move to 'lighten the load'.

We put in some solid kilometres, and by the end of the day, everyone was sun-kissed and mildly dehydrated but ready to do it all again. A good time was had by all – especially by those who remembered to pack food.

Meanwhile, the girls were having a slightly more relaxed day, opting for a laid-back vibe with just enough adventure to keep things interesting. They paddled up to the bluff first thing (nice and serene), then enjoyed a well-earned morning tea snack. But wait, the wind picked up! No worries – a shuttle arrived to save the day, and soon they were paddling across the lake to Eagle Point Café. Here, they indulged in a BBQ sausage sizzle (because what’s a trip without food?) and had time to play on the playground.

But the real highlights came when nature decided to put on a show. First, about 50 pelicans took off from the water all at once – it was like something out of a nature documentary! Then, they spotted something a little less majestic: a dead fish floating by, adding a touch of mystery to the day’s aquatic adventures.

As the day unfolded, there was a bit of canoe capsize practice – don’t worry, no one got wet on purpose (maybe). By the end of the day, the girls may have started out paddling in circles (literally) but they were a lean, mean paddling machine, working together like pros and navigating the lake with style and grace.
