School Closure  Day

(Friday 9th M)

Dear Families,

On behalf of our Holy Family School community, I wish all the amazing women a memorable and restful Mother's Day this Sunday.

I would especially like to thank our mums for your support of our staff and for entrusting your most precious gift (your child) to us. We feel privileged to be given the honour to educate your children.

Thank you for supporting our Mother's Day event on Monday 5th May and our Mother's Day Stall today.

Prayer for Mother’s Day

Loving God, we pray for our mothers,

who have given us life and love,

that we may show them reverence and love,

and others who show us a mother’s love.

We pray for adoptive mothers and for the women who wish to give birth

but experience challenges,

that they know your care.

We pray for mothers who have lost a child through death,

that their faith may give them hope,

and their family and friends support and console them.

We pray for those who wish to serve as mothers,

but are not able to do so,

that they know your comfort.

We pray for mothers who have died,

that God may bring them into the joy of his kingdom.

Amen

ANZAC Day

We gathered as a school community for our ANZAC Day Prayer Service on Thursday 24th April. Thank you to our choir and students who ensured this service was prayerful and reflective.

Four of our Year 6 students (Xavier, Micah, Sienna and Alissa) who represented Holy Family School on Monday 28th April at the ANZAC Service at the Shrine of Remembrance. Thank you to Ms Foenander for accompanying these students.

Year 5/6 School Concert

Our students in Years 5 and 6 have been busy auditioning and rehearsing for their concert this term. The evening promises to be a HUGE success and we would like to thank Avila College for providing us access to their performance space.

The concert will be held on Monday 26th May.

Students in Year 5 and 6 will rehearse during the day at Avila and perform to the rest of the school in the afternoon.  Please respond asap to the Operoo notes that have been sent out regarding this.

Tickets for Year 5/6 families for the evening performance will come home next week.  Unfortunately due to the demand we could only give out 1 extra ticket to those families who had requested extra tickets.  Please send back any tickets you no longer need to the office.

Year 3-6 Parent Literacy Information Evening

Come along to this evening to see how literacy is evolving at Holy Family.

This event is open to current and prospective families so please bring your friends along.

Bookings can be made via Operoo or email ndib@hfmw.catholic.edu.au

3 and 4 Year Old Kinder Parent Evening

Please let your friends and family know that we have an evening to share the changes that we have made in curriculum and behaviour at Holy Family School in the last 18 months.

Our school offers a dynamic learning environment for all students based on routines and explicit expert teaching.
